Using 2 GPUs with DiabloMiner - only detects 1 GPU? (xpost from /r/bitcoin)

I'm trying to use DiabloMiner on Ubuntu 11.04 with a 6970 and a 5830 . Aticonfig detects both devices, but when I start hashing i barely get over 200 mhash/s and if i check the loads/fanspeed only the 5830 is being used. The 6870 is the GPU im currently "using", i.e my monitor is plugged into it, but oddly enough the 5830 is the only one DiabloMiner wants to use. Any suggestions? I'm willing to donate bitcoin for a solution...
I have tried using the --devices flag, but the only one that works is if i set it to 1 , if i try to open two terminal windows and use 0 in the first one and 1 in the other, only the "1" instance produces hashes and "0" does nothing.

Anyone using linux to mine bitcoin?

My setup is an AMD PhenomII 965 black edition with 12gb DDR3 1333 and an Nvidia GTX460 1gb graphics card. I run Ubuntu 12.04
My roommate's setup is an AMD PhenomII 945 Black edition with 4gb DDR2 800 and an Nvidia GTX 460 1gb graphics card. He runs Windows 7
Using DiabloMiner on my Ubuntu 12.04 setup, I get around 50 Mhash and my computer becomes unusable during this time.
When my roommate uses GUIminer on his Windows 7 setup, he gets around 70 Mhash and can still browse the web and do other non-graphics intensive tasks.
Is this simply a limitation of Nvidia drivers on Linux, or is there something I'm missing? Any advice from other Linux using bitcoin miners out there would be of great help.
EDIT:

I am aware that AMD is better than Nvidia for mining BTC. My question was whether or not my setup was being limited by some combination of my OS/Drivers/Mining Tool. I am also welcoming any advice that isn't buy an AMD card, for improving my current setup.

mining help please..

So I am a bit limited running a macbook pro with 10.6.8. I am more confortable with DiabloMiner as I have succesfully had that mining bitcoins (didn't actually mine for long, but was able to succesfully set it up), but also have CGminer installed. I can't get either of them working correctly with doge.pool.pm
Diablominer is showing

and CGminer 3.7.2 is showing error

Thanks in advance for any help.

Can someone help me with my qt wallet?

So I've previously have been able to set up and sync bitcoin and litecoin qt and also mine for some coins with diablominer using instructions from google. For some reason though, I am struggling to get my wallet to sync, and thought it would just be easier at this point to ask for help. I am using a late 2009 mac, and have it installed but just cant figure out how to get it to sync after playing with it for a little. Thanks!

Bitcoin mining on OS X (10.7.5)

Posted this in /bitcoin first but was told that I might have better odds getting a good answer here instead.
I have a MBP from 2011 with the following stats:
I've been looking around for a miner to run on this computer while it idles, and I have noticed that there is no many alternatives out there for a Mac. In addition, I seem to be running into problems using the ones that do exist, most likely because most of them are GPU miners and the integrated graphics card on this machine is fairly shit.
I am aware that mining on this machine will never really give me much, but I enjoy the idea of having the computer at least try to do something useful. :)
Both DiabloMiner and Bitminter do not work for me.
The miner that at least seems to run is cgminer, however when checking the output it will show me an average hashrate of 0.0 Kh/s, and a certain number of "Work items generated locally".
Anyone have any suggestions to what I could do to be able to mine on this machine?

This Might Work. If not, shut me down.

I own 4 minecraft servers that average roughly 64 players at a time, each. I'm also admin on a few other servers and therefore can install plugins and such. All the plugins for bukkit (minecraft server type) are written in java, and when looking at the code for DiabloMiner I realized it contained a .jar. Here's my idea. Take the jar, make it run as a plugin, and mine for bitcoins. This might be in a grey area because it is forcing the user to bitcoin mine without their knowing, but all minecraft server plugins do anyways is have code run on a client computer to talk to the server. Anyone have any comments, ideas, connections, or reasons this wouldn't work? I'm open to anything, and just posted this because I thought it could possibly be a way of making profit.
I'm thinking of the plugin code looking something like this: if(Bukkit.getServer().getOnlinePlayers().size() > 5) { // Run bitcoin miner }
This would turn on the miner when people are actually playing on the server, since without players it would be useless.
Thanks!

Very low mh/s rates with different clients?

I am pretty new to bitcoin mining, trying out some miners with my MBP (Nvidia graphics card, yeah I know this isn't good for mining). I have tried using diablominer in the mtred.com pool, but when I start mining I will go on mtred and my worker still reads as offline. Shouldn't I immediately be seeing the worker's status when I use diablominer? (before someone asks, yes I'm using the worker name and password, not my mtred credentials).
Also I have tried mining at the bitminter.com pool, but strangely when I mine there I get around 18 mh/s while with diablominer I only get about 5. I'm guessing I should be using different settings with the script but i have tried tweaking the work size to no avail. this is the script i use for diablominer:
[directory].../DiabloMiner-OSX.sh -u [username] -p RPC [pass] -o pa.mtred.com -r 8337 -w 128 -g 60
help or suggestions would be appreciated!
